We’re Moving…Right Across The Road!

Elevation B

It’s been official for a few weeks now, our family is moving! This was not an easy decision – we’re giving up a great home in a wonderful location that is walking distance to the school and splash pad.   After re-evaluating our family’s need for space (my husband and I both require office space at home) and thinking towards the future when we will have two teenaged children living in our home we are moving from the “Fairgrounds” neighbourhood {Read More}

Kindergarten Registration

It’s THAT time of year again!  Kindergarten registration, a time of mixed emotions for so many mommas out there!  This is how I was feeling before I sent my oldest son to Junior Kindergarten, 1.5 years ago.  He had a bit of an emotional start to school, but quite enjoys his busy days now and has gotten used to the routine. Make sure you keep an eye out for Kindergarten registration information from your child’s school! I know I have {Read More}

The New Year is always a perfect chance to stop and take some time to reflect on the past and do some planning for the upcoming year.  Just like having a business plan if you’re self employed, it’s equally as important to have a “life plan”.   You have to know where you’re headed or at least where you WANT to head.  Maybe your plan will work out just as planned or you might be pointed in a different direction. {Read More}

Parent Council is No Joke!

Parent Council

I attended my second parent council meeting at my son’s school this past week and was inspired to get more involved – I’m hoping my experience (along with some data I collected) can help inspire you too. The first meeting I attended was the first parent council meeting at a brand new school that was blending an old, small, traditional country school into a new school with with more than 700 students.  Because there are only a certain number of {Read More}

Back on the Ice!

This morning I took our daughter out for her first time skating – which meant that I had to step out on the the ice too!  It’s been probably 13 years since I skated and was a bit nervous! (I’m still a bit nervous about how my body will feel tomorrow!)  But it was a lot of fun!  I didn’t even fall!! The Glanbrook Arena in Binbrook has a Parent and Tot skate every Tuesday and Thursday morning from 10:00am-12:00pm. {Read More}

Much Needed Sunshine Arrived!

I’ve had a bit of a long week – our son has pneumonia and is off school until Monday.  He’s cranky and not feeling well (obviously) and our daughter isn’t very much liking the attention he’s been getting (despite my efforts to include her in his care and give her extra love and attention)  We’re housebound, and the whole situation is just kind of getting us all down. Today though, I got a little glimmer of sunshine when 15 boxes {Read More}
